Movie Info

Shawshank is an ideal movie that could depict a no bearable circumstance in the present world. It illustrates the series of torture that a once rich man and a successful banker (Tim Robbins) has to overcome to get his life back. He is convicted for the murder of his wife and her lover something that he didn’t do. He is later sentenced to life imprisonment in an inferior Shawshank prison.

Shawshank Redemption stars Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins, William Sadler, Bob Gunton, and Clancy Brown. It is directed by Frank Darabont and still written by him and Stephen King (Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption). It is Morgan Freeman’s dearest movie despite the fact that it suffered vigorous completion on its release, especially from Pulp Fiction

After having shown remarkable skills in a short film adapted from “The Woman in the Room”, director Frank Darabont won Stephen King’s trust for Shawshank. The two had a work oriented relationship, but mainly worked on sole projects.

Director Frank Darabont was satisfied with the talent and performance in the movie despite the fact that it didn’t achieve much recognition. He attributed the low performance to the fact that it was a quiet prison movie with no booming happenings though the idea was remarkable.

You shouldn’t mistaken “The Shawshank Redemption” with the mini-series “Prison Break” despite the fact that they have the same storyline. Prison Break season 5 hit the theatres on April 4, 2017 and still stars Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, Sara Wayne Callies, and Dominic Purcell as the leading actors.

The Shawshank Redemption met different issues beginning with the financial constraints of the poor box office less than $ 60 million. It had positive critics, but couldn’t make it to the top

The behind the scenes indicate that Morgan Freeman had to pitch the baseball for nine hours and returned from shooting the next day after treatment.

Various actors such as Tom Hunks, Nicolas Cage, Jeff Bridges, Tom Cruise, and Jonny Depp were seen as potential characters for the Andy Dufresne role.

Tim Robbins has starred in movies like War of the Worlds (2005), A Perfect Day (2015), Green Lantern (2011), Mystic River (2004), and Dead Man Walking (1995). He has won various awards, including an Academy Award for the best supporting actor in Mystic River.
