Movie: To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) In Alabama during the early 1930s, there lives a man Atticus, who now lives with his two children Jem and Scout after his wife’s death. He is a town lawyer with no prejudice or discrimination and totally respects everyone regardless of his or her status. He is also a good father and very tolerant. He lets his children call him by his first name and is totally and gives them freedom of exploring the whole town.
Due to the freedom, Jem and Scout get close to their neighbor Arthur “Boo” Radley. As that is not enough, they also get exposed to the bad habits in their town, since it is characterized by poverty and all sorts of things.
It is not long enough when their father is tasked by the local judge to defend Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman. In the court, people gather up forming a big mob, but Atticus is completely unaware of their motive and purpose. A series of attacks arise as Atticus defends the black man who is seen as a minority
