Perhaps George might have seen the unfairness in life. He has spent most of his life helping the people of Bedford, but he has less to enjoy in the actual sense. One of his greatest desires is to travel to somewhere else, but has failed ever since he got that dream.
With the evolution of time, there comes what looks like a battle. He has to fight and prevent the town’s rich man Mr. Potter from ruling over the entire town. He would have done it in a less time, but there is something preventing him.
On the fateful day, George’s uncle Bill loses a large sum of money that belongs to the company before he deposits it into the bank. Potter finds the lost money and hides it from Billy and everyone concerned.
Things get worse when the bank examiner finds a shortage and this might send George into prison. This triggers him to think of suicide after having thought about his wife, children and loved ones who might suffer because of him. As he considers suicide, the prayers of his loved ones are eventually heard and an angel comes to help George out.
