The life of a young girl is quite disturbing, but this can happen to anyone, especially when one gets obsessed with social media. In a drama, comedy and what can look like a thriller motion, Ingrid Thorburn (Aubrey Plaza) is an unhinged social media fan and stalker of a certain Instagram famous “influencer” Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen). Ingrid’s source of attraction to Taylor isn’t clear, but all we know is that Taylor might be living a wonderful life in Los Angeles. In an uncontrollable manner, Ingrid diverts her minds on social media sending all sorts of memes to Taylor and at times totally confusing. It is not long enough that this Pennsylvania chic becomes obsessed and more like a lion.
Ingrid later decides to relocate to the West Coast, Los Angeles in order to develop a better relationship with her social media star. Is Taylor aware of all this? No one knows, but all we know is that the relationship kicks off in an awkward manner. The last thing we know is, Ingrid has opened a gateway to a dangerous chapter in her life.
